Synopsis
Part of the series “Contemporary Thinking”, the documentary “Evolution in the Arts” addresses the evolution of the arts through the characteristics of literary works, films, and paintings. The strongest link between these three art forms is realism, in which the reality of each time is presented in the works commented.
In all the literary works, analyzed by João Cezar de Castro Rocha and Paulo Roberto Pires, Brazil is the main theme; in film, realism is discussed by Nelson Aguilar as a language and how montage manipulates reality; and in the plastic arts, Jorge Coli poses the central question that we do not know how to see ourselves as Brazilians.
