Synopsis
“Law and Fear” is a full-length version of the 13-episode documentary series, “In the Force of Law”, which will be released in 2020, on the CineBrasilTV channel.
Filmed in 2018, at a time of great tension and political apprehension in Brazil, on the eve of the presidential elections that would put the extreme right candidate Jair Bolsonaro in power, the production recorded the experiences and difficulties experienced by those who suffer prejudice and violence, either for being women, black, LGBTQ + or contrary opinions, who want to have their rights to demonstrate, reflecting whether the laws in force in the country today are effective, such as the Gay Marriage and Social Name law that ensure rights for LGBTQ +. In addition to the law against social protests, which criminalizes social movements and activists.
